Get a named location's shape

Download a named location's outline, such as Greater Manchester, as one GeoJSON Feature: its member areas merged into a single shape.

Good to know

The shape is built ahead of time from a boundary release in which every member area is known. When no such shape exists you get a 503, never an approximation.

When it goes wrong

404No resource matches that identity.
503The referenced build artifact has not been built yet.

Technical notes

Show the precise behaviour

Returns the compiled union geometry for the location's fully resolved member release. It is unavailable rather than estimated when no such geometry has been built.
